White paste containing 416.7mg/ml Sulphadimidine and 83.3mg/ml Trimethoprim.
Sulphadimidine and Trimethoprim act synergistically to sequentially block the microbial folate synthetic pathways at two points. Bactericidal against a wide range of Gram+ve and Gram-ve bacteria. The combination acts synergistically to provide a level of activity that is many times greater than is achieved when either agent is used on its own.
Treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts of horses caused by organisms sensitive to the combination of Sulphadimidine an Trimethoprim.
Dosage and Administration
Can be dosed directly into the mouth from the graduated syringe. The dose is 5mL/83.3kg (30mL per 500kg) morning and night, as directed by the veterinarian. Two 90mL syringes contain sufficient product to treat a 500kg horse for 3 days. Administer by setting the dose ring to the correct body weight. Slide pistol grip into syringe. Remove cap and insert the syringe between the lips and the interdental space (the gap between the front and back teeth). Depress the plunger and deposit the paste on the top of the tongue towards the back of the mouth. Raise the horse’s head for a few seconds after treating to ensure that the full dose has been swallowed.
Presented in a graduated 90mL syringe individually boxed and blister packed in pairs.
